Roman necropolis Šempeter – 12km

Šempeter v Savinjski dolini

In the middle of Šempeter there is an arheological park, where the most beautiful Roman tombs in Slovenia can be admired. The burial ground was accidentally discovered in 1952. The reconstructed tombs present the remains of the tombs of wealthy families living in the surrounding of Šempeter and Celeia. Monumental marble tombs, the surviving section of the Roman road and the sculptures can be seen in a beautifully arranged park.

Opening hours: APRIL – every day from 10am to 3pm; MAJ and SEPTEMBER – every day from 10am to 4pm; JUNE, JULY, AUGUST – every day from 10am to 5pm; OCTOBER – Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.

Entrance: Adult: 5€; Children and students: 4€
